It appears that Kansas fans can officially add the #33 ranked player in the ESPNU 100, Doron Lamb, to the list of recruits who will be attending the annual ’Late Night in the Phog’ celebration that kicks off the basketball season. In addition to the trip to Kansas, the 6’4″,180 pound senior from Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia, will be heading to Norman, Oklahoma this weekend for his official visit. At this time Lamb and his family haven’t scheduled any other official visits after the Kansas trip on October 16th. TheShiver.com spoke with Doron’s father, Calvin, about the upcoming Oklahoma and Kansas visits.
“Yeah, I talked to him,” Calvin said about talking to Kansas Coach, Bill Self, yesterday evening. “They’re (Kansas) trying to do something for their Late Night,” added Calvin Lamb.
Calvin did say that the visit to Kansas is confirmed after suggesting that he was waiting for his son to confirm to him that the visit is happening.
“It’s up to Doron now,” Calvin Lamb said. “Once he tells me, we’ll make it happen. It’s pretty much confirmed. I guess you could say it’s confirmed,” Lamb added.
Both Calvin Lamb and his wife, Brigitte, will be making the trip to Oklahoma with Doron this weekend, something that they hope to do for the Kansas trip as well.
“Yep, we’re all going to Oklahoma this weekend,” Calvin Lamb said. “We’re trying to get out there (Kansas) too,” added Calvin Lamb.
Lamb makes the fifth Kansas prospect to commit to visiting Kansas during the weekend of October 16th. The current list consists of Lamb, #1 ranked player in the ESPNU 100, Harrison Barnes, #51 ranked player in the ESPNU Super 60, Josiah Turner, #16 ranked player in the ESPNU Terrific 25, J.P. Tokoto, and the #94 ranked player in the ESPNU 100, Royce Woolridge, who is also the lone Kansas commit in the 2010 class.
