Despite rumors that have been floating around for a few weeks, a visit to Lawrence for the annual ‘Late Night in the Phog’ Kansas basketball celebration on October 16th has not been scheduled for SG, Doron Lamb. In fact, an in-home visit, rumored to be on September 10th, hasn’t been set up with Lamb either. TheShiver.com spoke to Doron’s father, Calvin Lamb, about the rumors and the Jayhawks.
“They have never contacted me or his mother,” Calvin Lamb said of the Kansas coaching staff. “I haven’t talked to a Kansas coach yet,” added Lamb.
The staff has had the opportunity to speak to Doron himself, but haven’t had the opportunity to speak to Calvin Lamb and his wife at this point.
“I know they have talked to Doron,” Calvin Lamb said. “I understand the rules, but I wish that a Kansas coach would call me so we can straighten this out,” Lamb added.
The long rumored visit to Lawrence and the in-home visit are some things that the Lamb family appears to be unfamiliar with.
“I like Kansas, but I don’t know as far as that visit, I don’t know anything about it,” Lamb said. “Doron doesn’t know anything about it either. They’re more than welcome though,” added Lamb about the visit to Lawrence and the in-home visit.
The visit might not be officially set up yet, but it appears that a visit to Kansas could be scnhedule in the very near future for Lamb and his family.
“I know he wants to visit Kansas,” said Lamb of Doron. “We’ve got to at least talk to the coaches first,” added Lamb.
Doron’s parents appear to be very involved in the recruiting process with their son. When it comes to their son and his future, they just want what’s best for him.
“We’ve got to look at everything,” Lamb said. “If he’s happy, then that’s the way we are going to go. We just want the best situation possible,” added Lamb.
According to Calvin Lamb, no school has really separated themselves from another so far in the process. Something that might not happen until Doron and his family have the chance to see the schools on his list up close and personal. Lamb has visited Kentucky, but that hasn’t made them the school to beat according to Lamb.
“We haven’t decided anything,” Lamb said. “We liked Kentucky, but we aren’t just gonna pick a school without seeing all of the schools. It’s (UK) up there, but he wants to see Kansas, Oklahoma and others before deciding,” added Lamb.
