PG Deville Smith impressed throughout the KC Prep National Invitational in Shawnee, Kansas this week. At times, Smith looked unstoppable when attacking the rim and either finishing himself or finding one of his teammates for an easy dunk or lay-up. Smith also showed a smooth stroke from three point range, which he set up by consistently blowing by his defender and getting to the rim. Smith was most impressive on the defensive end, where he frustrated opponents with his ability to get into passing lanes, and to strip the ball away. Smith is a 2011 pg who claims to not really pay attention to college basketball at all, but will start that process this season as decision time draws closer for him. Read the rest of this entry »

The Eyes of a City will be Following Wainright for Years to Come

Telling people the exact spelling of his name might be the hardest thing Ishmail Wainright has to deal it these days. As an incoming freshmen, Wainright already has expectations on him as an athlete. At 6’5″, Wainright looks every bit like a college athlete, but it will be 4 years before he ever steps on a college field or court.
