rmuaFormer Mesquite running back Robert Marshall will now be sporting a different football uniform this season. Marshall is now enrolled at A. Maceo Smith High School in Dallas, according to his father David Marshall. Marshall started school at Smith on Monday, and attended practice that same day. According to his father, the move to A. Maceo Smith’s district should help Marshall on the football field.

“He is at practice now. He will make his debut on September 4th when they play Samuell. He will be wearing #28,” David Marshall said. “He will be the feature back at A. Maceo Smith,” added. Marshall.

On the field the move certainly could benefit the 6′1″ 225 pound Marshall, who is best known for his ability to run through would be tacklers. A. Maceo Smith runs more of a pro style offense, whereas Mesquite runs a spread offense with multiple ball handlers.

Marshall has now become the third piece of A. Maceo’s triple threat offense, which includes quarterback Jatashun Beachum and tight end Chris Barnett.

Marshall won the running backs MVP award at the Ohio State Advance Camp earlier this summer, and he also was one of the stars of Tennessee’s football camp before having to leave the camp early due to a prior commitment back home.

Marshall, who won’t turn 17 until October, is the brother of current Kansas defensive lineman D.J. Marshall.
