At 6′5″ 200 pounds Tony Wroten,Jr. has separated himself from most of the guards in the 2011 class. The left handed point guard is probably the best passer in the class, and despite his size, has little trouble creating off the dribble and getting into the lane. As far as his recruitment goes, Wroten’s list is spread throughout the country, including the state of Kansas.
“Villanova, Syracuse, Louisville, Washington, Kansas, and Seton Hall,” Wroten quickly rattled off the top of his head when asked what schools make up his list.
When it comes to Kansas, Wroten likes the Jayhawks but is looking to learn more.
“It’s (KU) is a good school and I have had good communication with them,” Wroten said of the Jayhawks. “I like how they play and get up and down the court,” added Wroten.
Wroten has spent time talking to Coach Self, but is hoping to learn more about the Jayhawks over the next few months. Wroten has been able to spend time watching the Jayhawks on television, especially recently.
“I have watched them. Especially when Rodrick (Stewart) was there,” Wroten said.
As for a visit to Kansas, Wroten hasn’t decided where he’ll visit and he only mentioned one place he knows he wants to visit.
“I don’t know,” said Wroten about where he’ll visit. “Villanova,” Wroten said about where he knows he wants to visit.
With a busy summer schedule ahead for Wroten, cutting his list down likely won’t be something that happens for awhile.
“I don’t know, maybe the end of the summer or something like that,” said Wroten about when he might narrow his list.
With programs around the country pursuing the talented point guard, it will likely be easier said than down for Wroten to narrow his list. However, with time on his side, Wroten will surely be able to choose a program that he feels will be best for him.
