colton-altier1If there was a Captain Consistency award during the Football University Camp in Liberty, Missouri this past weekend, it would have to go to South Garland High School (TX) quarterback Colton Altier.

Altier stuck out to on lookers from the very beginning of the camp by making all throws, leadership, and accuracy. At 6’3″ 185 pounds, Altier certainly looked the part of a top level quarterback, but his performance during the camp showed that he is a top level quarterback.

After suffering a partial ACL tear in the third game of the season last year, Altier has dedicated himself to being the best quarterback he can. He has helped lead his team to the 7 on 7 state finals, performed well at a number of camps and combines, and impressed during the South Garland spring practices.

While only playing in a few games last season, Altier made an impression on college coaches during that time. Altier has heard from San Diego State, Kansas, Kansas State, and others over the past year, but since the injury, it seems most are waiting to see how Altier performs this coming season. Altier’s attitude about that? Nothing but hard work and a smile. Judging by his consistent play this weekend, Altier will surely impress throughout his senior season.
