Top 5 2012 prospect Perry Ellis received some big news today as he received his third official scholarship offer. Strange enough the offer came from a coach that has already offered the 6′8″ SF once before. John Calipari was at Memphis when he first offered Ellis, who has a sister at Memphis. Calipari is now at Kentucky and has now set his sights on the top player in Kansas.
The Kentucky offer is the third for Ellis who has already been offered by Memphis and the home state Kansas Jayhawks.
Ellis was the only player in the class of 2012 to be invited to the Vince Carter Nike Skills Academy in Orlando that just concluded in Orlando, Florida. By all accounts, Ellis more than held his own despite getting tagged with the “rookie” name throughout the camp. Ellis now moves his attention and game to the state of Ohio as he heads out to the LeBron James Skills Academy next week.
