Westfield High School quarterback Jacoby Walker has committed to Kansas.
Certainly huge news for the Kansas program as Westfield High School quarterback Jacoby Walker decided to commit to the Kansas Jayhawks, after having Kansas #1 on his list for the past few months. TheShiver.com first caught up to the 6’2″ 200 pound Walker at the Elite 11 camp in Dallas. It was there that Walker impressed onlookers with his live arm, agility, and overall confidence. Walker again impressed at the Houston Elite 11 camp, showing consistency in his game. Walker chose the Jayhawks over programs like Nebraska, Kansas State, Iowa State, Syracuse, and Oklahoma State.
TheShiver.com just spoke to Jacoby again moments ago, here are a few quotes from that phone conversation:
TS: Discussing why he chose Kansas:
JW: I felt it was time to make the decision and I felt they were the best fit.
TS: Jacoby on how he sees himself fitting into the Kansas Offense.
JW: They’re a spread team which is something I work well with. They also like to go under center. They need a smart quarterback to handle the offense. I have a good understanding of these schemes. I am good at making plays.
TS: Jacoby notes some things he still needs to work on:
JW: Your feet can never be too quick, so that will be something I will work on. Being a complete player, consistency, coming out every game and giving everything you have. Also, working on the little things because they add up.
