#1 USC totally dismantles #5 Ohio State, 35-3. Mark Sanchez threw for 172 yards and 4 TD’s in a very impressive win for the Trojans. Ohio State looked to dominate the time of possession early, before USC got rolling and never looked back.
#2 Georgia held off a later rush by South Carolina to win 14-7. Knowshon Moreno gave Georgia the lead for good in the 3rd quarter by finishing on a 4 yard run into the end-zone.
#3 Oklahoma hangs 55 on Washington and hold on 55-14. In a total domination, the Sooners felt no sorrow for the Huskies and their heartbreaking loss last weak. Bob Stoops and company dominated from the coin flip until the gun sounded to end the game. Sam Bradford was 18/21 304 yds and 5 TD’s.
#4 Florida…Bye
#5 Ohio State…Wishing that they wouldn’t have played.
#6 Missouri completely owns Nevada, 69-17. Nevada had a great time in Columbia. They did a lot of chasing, but never caught anything. Chase Daniel and Jeremy Maclin ran wild on the Wolfpack. Chase Daniel went 23/28 405 yds and 4 TD’s.
#7 LSU had a tough, hard fought battle against North Texas. The Tigers pulled it out, 41-3. With a tough win like this, the Tigers have to be missing Glen Dorsey. LSU’s Andrew Hatch went 10/17 125 yds.
#8 Texas…..Ike ruined their weekend. BULLY!
#9 The Auburn baseball team barely pulled out a win against Mississippi State on Saturday, 3-2. What? It was a football game? What was going on is Starkville, Mississippi? This game isn’t one that the SEC will show off with pride as they force feed the country ‘ We are the best football conference in the world’ propaganda. Somehow, Auburn, will still remain in the top 10 this week. Chris Todd went 14/26 for 154 yds.
#10 Wisconsin, in a very good game, held on to beat #21 Fresno State, 13-10. For those that stayed up late to watch this game, you got treated to Allan Evridge going 12/24 for 143 yards.
#11 The Saban party continued to roll as Alabama beat Western Kentucky, 41-7 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Alabama looks better, and has talent, but will need to show that they can beat teams in the SEC before more people will believe. John Parker Wilson went 17/27 for 215 yards and 2 TD’s.
#12 Hawaii looks like a pretty sweet gig to June Jones right now. Beaches, sun, and beauty one year and then lovely Lubbock, Tx the next year. That seems like a smart career choice, right? Jones thought not Saturday has the Red Raiders beat SMU 43-7. Graham Herrell went 31/48 418 yards and 5 TD’s.
#13 Kansas lost to South Florida on Friday night. A late interception by Todd Reesing allowed the Bulls to get into field goal range. The last second field goal by the Bulls gave the Jayhawks only their second regular season loss dating back to last season.
#14 East Carolina came back to beat Tulane 28-24. Lets be honest here, 7 people care. More would, but East Carolina didn’t beat a team that could potentially screw up the BCS like they had the past two weeks.
#15 Arizona State proved to be over-ranked by losing to UNLV, in Tempe, 20-23. Georgia comes calling next week and as of right now, everyone thinks that ASU is a fraud. For their sake, they better homw they show up Saturday.
#16 Former Wichita prep standout, Chris Harper, was the Oregon Ducks QB as he led them into the end-zone in a double OT win against Purdue. Oregon won this hard fought battle, 32-26. The Ducks seemed to be out of the game a couple of times, but fought their way back to pull out the win.
#17 Penn State destroyed Syracuse, 55-13. Two things you need to know. No one with the Penn State program got in any legal trouble yesterday and Greg Robinson still hasn’t figured out this coaching thing.
#18 BYU seriously won 59-0 versus UCLA. Yes, that UCLA team that beat Tennessee two weeks ago. How embarrassing for Tennessee, huh? Maybe the SEC is a little overhyped, like Tennessee seems to be every year.
#19 Yeah, yeah, USF beat Kansas
#20 Wake Forest has a break this week
#21 Fresno State lost a tough one to Wisconsin
#22 Utah showed Utah State why no one outside of Utah State even knows they are a University. They squeeked out a win, 58-10.
#23 Cal forgot to wake up on the east coast on Saturday. Sure, they lost three hours of sleep, but I’m pretty sure Red Bull was invented for a reason. They scored late and attempted an onside kick, but failed to recover the Terps pulled off the upset. Maryland, who hasn’t beat anyone of note in years, jumped all over the half asleep Bears and then held on for the win.
#24 Illinois is ranked, and I’m not sure why. They did, however, pull out the win against Louisiana Lafayette, 20-17.
#25 West Virginia…Excited about Boulder on Thursday Night?
