Xavier Henry visits set

Posted by admin On September - 30 - 2008

There has been much confusion about Xavier Henry as to when he will visit Memphis and Kansas. It appears that Xavier will make the trip to Memphis this weekend before visiting Kansas for ‘Late Night’ on October 17th.  It was speculated that Xavier would make an unofficial trip to Memphis last weekend, but that never happened. Thomas Robinson, RSCI’s #23 ranked, player , is also expected to visit Memphis this weekend according to Zagsblog.

We also reported last week that the Henry recruitment may be close to ending after a radio show clip was sent to us. Coach John Dillard who ranked top JUCO players on jucojunction.com, a site that is a part of the Rivals.com network, commented on the Henry situation during a radio show that can be heard here

It sounded as if Dillard was quoting Carl Henry, the father of Xavier, but after further clarification, Dillard is actually paraphrasing his business partner, who according to Dillard, once coached Carl Henry before arriving at Kansas.

It’s done! It’s over boys!  He’s a Memphis Tiger,” said Dillard on the show

Dillard is also the editor of Southwest Hoops Report and  was also interviewed in a August 2006 article with Gary Parrish for cbssportsline.com about so called “Diploma Mills.”

Henry didn’t make it to Memphis

Posted by admin On September - 29 - 2008

It was reported that Xavier Henry would make the trip to Memphis this weekend to visit his brother, C.J.  It looks as if that trip never happened. Sources have confirmed to TheShiver.com this morning that Henry didn’t have the opportunity to make the trip this past weekend. Xavier is slated to make his official trip to Memphis on October 24th, a week after visiting Kansas.

Even with missing the Memphis trip, it is believed by those said to be close to the situation that Xavier will be Memphis bound when he finally announces his decision. If Henry actually makes it to his scheduled Kansas visit, things could certainly change.

We will keep you updated.

Posted by admin On September - 25 - 2008

It would appear that the Xavier Henry recruiting saga is about to end. TheShiver.com was sent the audio of an on-line radio broadcast that featured recruiting analyst around the country, including Coach John Dillard. In the audio, Dillard, who is heard paraphrasing what Xavier’s dad, Carl Henry, said to him.

It’s done! It’s over boys!  He’s a Memphis Tiger.”

Other sources have told TheShiver.com that a commitment could come as early as this weekend while Xavier is visiting his brother C.J. at Memphis.

Audio here. About the 10:00 minute mark. The show is archived as the 9-24-08 show.

Perry Ellis likes KU

Posted by admin On September - 23 - 2008

Perry Ellis, enjoyed his recent visit to the University of Kansas last weekend for their Ring Ceremony.  The 6′8″ small forward/power forward from Wichita Heights High School in Wichita, KS, had the opportunity to make the trip with his parents.

Perry and his dad had a fantastic time at KU last weekend,” according to his High School coach Joe Auer.

Some consider Ellis to be a lock for the top 25 of the 2012 class rankings when they are finally released and according to his coach his game is really progressing in the Fall league.  Coach Auer also mentioned that, as of now, Perry Ellis is intending to go back to Lawrence for ‘Late Night in the Phog’ on October 17th.
